HEALTH AND SAFETY

Grupo Lamosa prioritizes the health and safety of its people, continuously promoting a culture of sickness and accident prevention, and dedicating special attention and resources to looking after the physical wellbeing of its associates.

In 2017, the Grupo Lamosa plants and offices held safety events, including simulations and activities mainly related to health.

TRAINING

Training is a key factor for Grupo Lamosa since, in addition to motivating and enriching the technical and professional formation of its personnel, it increases productivity, generating competitive advantages for the organization. During 2017, the company promoted learning in specific areas of knowledge, growing employees’ competencies in order to enhance their performance in the workplace. Of the total training hours imparted and recorded in 2017, 40% correspond to Cerámica San Lorenzo in South America.

DIVERSITY

Today, Grupo Lamosa has a highly diverse labor force, including personnel in the different countries where it has tile and adhesives operations, such as Mexico, the United States, Guatemala, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. This multicultural make up is very valuable because it enables the exchange of new ideas from different points of view and contributes to efficiency enhancement and improved organizational performance. It is important to note that the company operates with policies that promote diversity and an inclusive environment, where everyone is valued for his/her own talents and competencies, regardless of gender, race, nationality or personal beliefs.

CORRUPTION

In 2017, Grupo Lamosa continued to promote a culture of legality among its personnel, fostering the values contained in its Code of Ethics, such as responsibility and honesty. Through the Transparency Line and the Ethics Committee, the company has shown zero tolerance for corruption, analyzing and resolving all complaints received. In this way, Grupo Lamosa is adhering to the Principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

HUMAN RIGHTS

Group Lamosa respects, protects and promotes the human rights of its people, guaranteeing that their activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and the laws of every country where we operate.

In 2017, the Internal Auditing Department implemented an intensive training program in the Grupo Lamosa Code of Ethics for the associates of Cerámica San Lorenzo in Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. Satisfactory results were obtained with the standardizing of practices and people’s knowledge of the values and ethical standards that govern all the company’s activities.

SOCIAL INVESTMENT AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

All Grupo Lamosa businesses carried out activities related to social investment and volunteer programs for the benefit of communities neighboring their offices and production centers. Company personnel generously took part in the volunteer programs, becoming agents of change as they participated directly and, on many occasions, with their families, in activities to support their communities and the environment.

Escuela

For the second consecutive year, Grupo Lamosa implemented the Escuela Digna institutional program in the state of Tlaxcala. This initiative provides materials and labor to improve schools in the communities where workers at the company’s four tile production centers in the state live. During 2017, five schools were given tiles and ceramic adhesives, directly benefitting more than 1,000 students by giving them a place with dignity, boasting floors covered with Lamosa tiles, in which to study.

To date, 11 schools have been supported: one pre-school, eight elementary schools and one high school, as well as a Multiple Support Center for handicapped children.
