Grupo Lamosa firmly believes that it is very important to implement initiatives and carry out actions to care for the environment. During 2017, the company took part in developing the NMX standard for sustainable ceramic tiles and adhesives in partnership with the Mexican National Standardization and Certification Body for Construction and Building (ONNCCE). This is an official organization dedicated to standardization, certification and verification, with the objective of contributing to improving the quality of products, processes, systems and services related to the construction industry.
During the year, Grupo Lamosa implemented initiatives to improve protected natural regions that had in some way been compromised. For example, personnel from the Niasa Adhesives Plant in Guadalajara took part in the reforestation of the La Primavera Forest in the state of Jalisco, which forest fires had recently damaged.
In order to continue contributing to the conservation and care of water, throughout 2017 the company continued its annual battery collection campaign, ensuring the adequate confinement of recovered materials. Employees and workers from the offices and production centers in the state of Nuevo León took part in this campaign.

In 2017, the company continued to assure the correct management of waste from the operations of all its businesses, in accordance with the internal control practices and procedures established for confining and recording recoverable materials.
With the incorporation of Cerámica San Lorenzo, practices for managing and recording such materials were standardized, which was one of the company’s sustainable objectives.
